Okanagan Falls

A quiet South Okanagan village surrounded by vineyards, orchards, and the turquoise waters of Skaha Lake.

Okanagan Falls is a small village in the South Okanagan, sitting at the southern end of Skaha Lake where the Okanagan River flows south toward Osoyoos. It is one of the quietest and most authentic communities in the Okanagan Valley — a place that has retained its small-town character while being surrounded by some of the finest wine country in Canada. The Okanagan Falls wine trail is one of the most concentrated in the South Okanagan. The benchlands above the village are planted with vineyards that produce exceptional red wines — particularly Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Syrah — and the wineries in the area include some of the most respected names in BC wine. The combination of hot summers, cold winters, and the moderating influence of Skaha Lake creates ideal conditions for premium wine production. Skaha Lake itself is a beautiful body of water, warmer and less crowded than Okanagan Lake to the north, with excellent swimming beaches, boating, and fishing. The Skaha Bluffs Provincial Park, on the rocky hillsides above the village, is one of the premier rock climbing destinations in BC, with hundreds of routes on the warm, south-facing granite cliffs. The village has a pleasant, unhurried character with a good selection of local businesses and a strong sense of community. The Okanagan Falls Heritage and Cultural Society preserves the history of the area, including its Indigenous heritage and the early settler period.
