The Drive of a Lifetime

Icefields Parkway

The 230 km stretch of Highway 93 between Jasper and Banff is consistently ranked among the world's most scenic drives. Glaciers, turquoise lakes, waterfalls, and wildlife — elk, bears, and mountain goats are regular roadside sightings.

Plan at least a full day to drive it properly. There are dozens of pull-offs, short hikes, and viewpoints. The Columbia Icefield halfway between the two towns is a must-stop.
